When I talk to people, I notice that very few Belgians know where our drinking water comes from or what's in it. My main goal is therefore to inform people about the quality of our drinking water. Drinking tap water is completely safe here in Belgium, yet we remain one of the countries with the highest consumption of bottled water. I want to raise awareness, show what science is doing, and provide transparency. — Marjolein
Our social story
The idea for this podcast originated from the Podlab XL project by our colleague Peter Blomme and podcast friend Eva Moeraert. After a pilot episode was produced, the Chase Creative team—led by Pieter Blomme as lead audio storyteller, Wederik De Backer as audio editor, our COO Jan d'Hont for advice and audience development, and senior account manager Anastassia Oudovitchenko—took the next steps. We coached, edited, and mixed the seven episodes and created an audience development plan for the show, including:
- Hosting
- Publication press campaigns
- Social advertising campaigns
- Dedicated podcast landing page
- Copywriting
- Podcast art graphics
- Audio creation
- Video teaser

Could it be contaminated with hormones? Is there enough drinking water on the planet? In each episode, Marjolein Vanoppen talks with a panel of experts about the most precious resource of the coming decade. She does this together with her father, who can sometimes be skeptical, giving the format more authenticity and depth.
Almost 75% of listeners stayed until the end of the podcast. In the first week of its release, we became the number one Belgian podcast on Apple Podcasts in the Earth Sciences category, and it was covered by various media outlets such as VRT NWS.
